Ahmed Shafik Just Doesn’t Get It

“I don’t think that a president after 30 years….after all these years of public service..these five months are not going to make much difference.” – Ahmed Shafik speaking about the chance of Mubarak relinquishing power to VP Omar Suleiman. He is clearly out of touch with exactly what the people have been calling for. These 8, not 5 months do make a difference.

At least Robert Gibbs, the White House Press Secretary, is starting to understand us. He said that theĀ people protesting in Egypt “aren’t going anywhere” without Mubarak and his government taking “concrete steps” towards free and fair elections.
