The Million Man March

Protesters in Tahrir Square in Cairo on 1 February 2011 as part of the March of Millions

It is dark in Cairo. But the lights of Tahrir Square warm the hearts of every Egyptian around the world. While tanks continue to block the entrances to the square, the people have poured in, and at its largest the crowd was estimated to be around 1.7 million. Of course protesters around the Egypt have also come out in strength; from Alexandria to Suez, Fayoum to Demitta, people have risen to support democracy and a new order in Egypt.

The Million March was a success. It showed we will not sit back and relax, that where ever we may be, we believe in our liberty, we love our country, and we are prepared to fight for both.
